Cannabis lovers everywhere have been talking about Gorilla Glue #4 since GG strains released it to the public around 2014. It went on the win High Times awards within a year, and for so many reasons! This amazingly stoney and terpene rich strain has been a budtender favorite at Trove. It’s a good thing that Khush Kush keeps us stocked up! One of my favorite things is opening a jar and comparing it to the same strain from SubX! The smells alone are similar but you can pick out the diesels in one more, while the other gives off a sweet and sour aroma. Both will make you drool as you’re grinding them up, packing it in a bong and puffing away. (Don’t worry, it goes great in a bowl, joint, or dry herb vape too!) The high is most appropriately described as “gluey” (hence the name; we’ll come back to that). With a great uplifting buzz, GG4 also packs a heavy body high which will likely leave you wanting to do something fun, or you might catch yourself enjoying your least favorite chore more than usual.
A personal recommendation involves using the heavy Indica, such as Royal Kush 7 from Eagle Trees, and mixing it with equal parts of GG4 from Khush Kush. Packing a heavy punch, both strains complement each other nicely leaving me very euphoric and letting the aches of the day fade. This combo has been lovingly named “Queen Kong” by a few people at Trove!
If you’re looking for something even more potent, let me tell you how much I love to take a dab of “Sticky Gorilla”, also from Khush Kush, which is flavorful and incredibly relaxing. The euphoria sets in just as fast as the sedation, which is comfortable and welcomed before or after a long day! Sometimes I enjoy making my own homemade version of a “Moon Rock” (Google Moon Rocks or http://www.moonrocks.com/) by taking a large piece of Sticky Gorilla shatter and a nug of GG4 from Khush Kush, then basically wrapping the GG4 bud with the piece of shatter. You can smoke this in a bong, pipe, or joint, giving you a very potent addition to your bud. The even quicker version would be to break off a chunk of this shatter, or maybe some of Perecan’s CO2 Gorilla Glue wax and put it on a bowl of your ground up GG#4 flower. You’ll get that same heavy hit out of your bong or pipe.
Phat Panda is following this concept with their Firecracker infused pre-rolls, by using GG#4 flower inside the joint, dipping it in Lime oil and then rolling it in kief! This is an incredible joint for its potency and overall great flavors. I always recommend it as a nice party favor if you’re trying to impress friends with a real heavy hitter, or just a nice reward for yourself when you’re in the mood for something easy and good!
Whatever you’re in the mood for, there is a Gorilla Glue or two around to give you and your buds a great high and a happy experience. Moving forward the strain from GG Strains will be officially called GG4 or some variation, basically avoiding the actual name “Gorilla Glue”. You might be familiar with the household product also going by that name, so to avoid confusion and backlash, in September 2017, GG Strains agreed to call their Cannabis by its nickname, GG#4 and so on.
